Dopo un lungo tempo (non ci speravate più, vero???), finalmente riesco a tornare a parlare di quella che è la mia più grande passione... vi chiedo perdono per avervi fatto aspettare tanto.
Lasciamoci subito alle spalle qualsiasi forma di protagonismo del sottoscritto, quella che conta è la bella musica creata nel Terra del Sol Levante... ed ho il piacere di farlo per una delle uscite discografiche che più attendevo: sto parlando delle BOUNDARY e del loro primo full album dal titolo “ASHIATO”.
Le Boundary sono una band nata ad Osaka, da diversi in attività... i primi singoli sono cominciati ad uscire nel 2015, mentre i due fantastici mini-album sono datati 2018 e 2019.
Innanzitutto ci tengo a ringraziare Alexis di Cherry Blossom Media per avermi consigliato questa band: loro non sono super famose e praticamente sconosciute al di fuori dal Giappone... è molto utile conoscere un pozzo di scienza in materia a darti consigli.
Il 12 Luglio 2023, è stato lanciato il loro primo vero lavoro discografico... un album composto da 10 canzoni, tutte all'insegna di quel pop-rock tipico delle giovani rock-band giapponesi.
Andiamo a vedere cosa ci hanno riservato queste talentuose.

Se vi è capitato di leggere qualche mio articolo precedente, sapete quanto sia profondo il mio amore per queste “three-piece rock-band” completamente al femminile... un tipo di formazione molto comune in Giappone, ma praticamente inesistente in giro per il mondo.
Ecco, le Boundary sono la quintessenza di questa tipologia di band, e “Ashiato” è il loro regalo al mondo.
Se siete degli amanti di quel punk\pop (o lo vogliamo chiamare power pop) leggero leggero, ma bello ritmato ed estremamente orecchiabile... probabilmente questo sarà il vostro album preferito del 2023.
Musicalmente, penso che quest’album sia uno degli album più orecchiabili che io abbia mai avuto il piacere di ascoltare... tutte le canzoni sono particolarmente piacevoli, ma alcune vi si pianteranno letteralmente in testa (prima o poi vi ritroverete a fischiettare pezzi come “Ongaku Yo” oppure “Ashiato”, senza accorgervene).
Alla fin fine il discorso è anche abbastanza semplice: quando sei così bravo ed efficace in quello che fai, la semplicità è la tua più grande arma... 10 canzoni, 32 minuti di musica che va dritta al punto senza perdersi in chissà quale virtuosismo.
Una bella voce, un basso estremamente solido ed una chitarra che spinge quando c'è da spingere e da spazio agli altri quando serve. Tutto qua.
È inutile negare che, al netto di tante condizioni al contorno, questo è esattamente il mio tipo di musica ideale... però è altrettanto evidente il talento di questa band e la qualità di questo lavoro. Considero “Ashiato” un piccola gemma, assolutamente imperdibile per qualsiasi amante di questo genere di musica. Sono un grande sostenitore di questa band, spero di vederle arrivare al grande pubblico presto e magari calcare anche qualche palco prestigioso.
